Odd Look a Likes

This is a picture of Tiger and of Pope John Paul's first Communion. When I saw this picture in the paper after his death I freaked out at how much it looked like my son, Tiger!

Christmas

This year we all went out to the farm on Christmas. It was wonderful. I just have to brag on my Tiger ! He did SO WELL at his great grandmother's house. She had two tables worth of snow village. He looked, but didn't touch. Ok, he touched maybe once, but overall he was very self controlled. He had a great time playing outside in the dirt.

A few years ago his grandparents had him for a week at their house, without us. After that he got upset every time he saw them, and definitely everytime they came to our house. This year he seems to have either forgiven them or forgotten about it. He was very sweet to them the last time they came for a visit and he was definitely comfortable in their house this Christmas.

Another amazing thing to me was that he didn't bother the Christmas trees at all. If I had known that I would have put up the taller one. In fact the only ornaments that were broken were Alex and Zoe's fault.

He got quite a few toys but he really beamed at the Batman action figure. See, he broke his last one, and his brother's too. He looked so pleased to get the same one. he had such a big smile on his face. I wish I had a video camera to capture the moment. It was really a sweet moment.

Overall, he was such a good boy. That was his gift to us!

The Poem

· BIBLIOGRAPHIC RECORD
Arthur Quiller-Couch, ed. 1919. The Oxford Book of English Verse: 1250–1900.
William Blake. 1757–1827
489. The Tiger
TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies 5
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart? 10
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp 15
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee? 20
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
